April 5th 2008 Privy Dig
We are on a construction site again this weekend. Today its Doug, Phil, and Myself. A new section of concrete slab had been removed and we probed out another brickliner. This one was about 6 feet across and had several early cast iron pipes running through it. After busting these out of our way we were able to start taking this pit down at about 4 feet in we started hitting a layer around the edge. This layer was circa 1900 and didn't contain many bottles. we took half the pit down to bottom and shifted the rest of the pit. The best bottle we found was a very light yellow amber cone ink and a few local clear whiskeys. This pit was only 5 feet deep and the pickings were pretty slim.
