Wednesday February 11th 2009 Privy Dig
After Digging in Wilmington Me and Doug decided to take advantage of the warm spell and try a dig in Baltimore. We spent the better part of the morning driving around looking for something old to dig with no luck until we headed to south Baltimore. we found a recently emptied 1860s house. We probed a small barrel lined privy it had about a foot of trash and was pretty easy to dig. but sadly had been dipped and the layer was only 1890s we got a couple druggists and one steamer type soda. Again nothing great So we decided to try another area. we got into a wood square that was about 6 feet deep. We dug it down a few feet and test holed to the bottom showing that it had been cleaned out as there was no trash layer. So we called it a day and headed home.
